Annamalai University in Chidambaran (Tamil Nadu) pulled off a close victory in the final against Chennai’s Sathyabama University to win the All India Inter-University Basketball Title, hosted by Annamalai. After falling to a big deficit in the first quarter, Annamalai made a good comeback to stay competitive in the game and finally pull off a 85-76 victory.Annamalai were led by Vigneshwaran (29 points) and Anandha Krishnan (19) points in the final. Prasannavenkatesh had 24 points for Sathyabama in a loss.
Pune University came in third place after a close one-point win over Punjab 88-87.
